The rock sculpture of Decebalus is a 42.9 m in height and 31.6 m in width carving in rock of the face of Decebalus, the last king of Dacia, who fought against the Roman emperors Domitian and Trajan to preserve the independence of his country, which corresponded to modern Romania. The sculpture was made on a rocky outcrop on the river Danube, at the Iron Gates, which form the border between Romania and Serbia. It is located near the city of Orșova in Romania. It is the tallest rock relief in Europe.It was commissioned by Romanian businessman Iosif Constantin Drăgan and it took 10 years, from 1994 to 2004, for twelve sculptors to finish it.

Constantin Brancusi, Endless Column

Constantin Brancusi (1876-1957) was commissioned by the Women’s League of Gorj to honor the soldiers who defended Târgu-Jiu against a German force during World War I. The sculpture is a 30 meter high, column of zinc, brass-clad, cast-iron modules threaded onto a steel spine, and is part of a three-sculpture ensemble along with two travertine monuments called Gate of the Kiss and Table of Silence.

Constantin Brâncuși, The Table of Silence, Târgu Jiu

Circular stone table surrounded by twelve hourglass-seats, which symbolize time. The Table of Silence represents the moment before the battle on which the combatants were going to participate. Nevertheless, the seats are not located close to the edges of the table.

»Metka Krašovec premore v svojih predalih obilico malih akvarelov, ki nastajajo že leta in so v resnici intimne meditacije na temo. Mali utrinki, pomisleki ali samo vprašanja, ki jih Metka zapisuje na papir. To so hitri zapisi, včasih že kar podzavestni. Človeške figure delujejo skoraj kot grafični znaki, ki plešejo nenavadno koreografijo v breztežnostnem stanju. A vsaka podoba ima svojo jasno likovno sporočilo. Enostavnost potez, s katerimi so upodobljene figure, zapleta govorica teles. Ta je tisti fokus slik, ki jih dela nenavadne in gledalcu zastavlja fine “uganke”. Mogoče celo avtorici sami. Ali pa so to že nekakšni odgovori, ki jih je treba le še dešifrirati. Lahko pa si to serijo slik razlagamo tudi kot izsek iz dnevnika čustev, nekakšen ples duha,« je zapisal likovni urednik Pavle Učakar.

Dolgo nosiš ogenj v ustih, / dolgo ga skrivaš, / za koščenim plotom zob, / med belim risom ustnic ga stiskaš. // Veš, da ne sme nobeden zavohati dima iz tvojih ust, / spominjaš se, da vrane ubijejo belo vrano, / zato zakleneš usta in skriješ ključ. // Ampak nekoč začutiš v ustih besedo, / votlina glave ti odmeva od nje, / takrat začneš iskati ključ svojih ust. // Dolgo ga iščeš, / ko ga najdeš, odkleneš lišaj s svojih ustnic, / odkleneš rjo svojih zob, / potem iščeš jezik, ampak jezika ni, / potem hočeš izreči besedo, / ampak usta so polna pepela, / in namesto besede se skotali kepa pepela med saje v tvoje grlo, / zato odvržeš zarjaveli ključ, / potem si narediš nov jezik iz zemlje, / jezik, ki govori besede iz prsti.
